Ok, so I didn't keep my promise of more posts during the week but that was my photographer's fault...he left and hasn't come back yet (yes Carlos, I mean you). Fortunately another friend of mine had the time to take these just 30 mins ago, so now I have something to post :)
This afternoon was the same as all the others, sitting in the café (Spirito once again) absorbing the rays of sunshine, however i'll be at work in 2 and a half hours...
I'll be off now as I have a little shopping to do at Sephora. I'll post them soon as well as the shopping I did at Zara this morning.

So this is what I wore yesterday whilst out for coffee with a friend. I was hoping to go to Spirito (the coffee shop that I mentioned in previous posts) but it was closed much to my dissapointment. We ended up going to another lovely little café in the historical part of town (which is beautiful).

I've been quite busy this week finishing off a piece for the magazine that I write for, that's why I have kept blogging to a minimum.
I found some time to take the above photos and indulge in a little bit of art critique :) These were taken at a friend's house, some of the photos are a bit blurry as I forgot to turn off the macro and the first two are results of my experimentation with pixlr o matic.
The mug and paintbrushes were used by said friend to paint some sketches he had done on his bedroom wall, I played the part of snooty critic quite well :) This coming week I'll have more time to post, so expect almost daily ones.

Just a quick post of what I wore today. As you can see I went to the cupcake and coffee place again and had a peanut butter buscuit with purple glitter on top (divine) and a vanilla latte.
The poses are pretty much the same due to my lack of imagination (I would be a terrible model) and please excuse my face in the last photo, I got caught chewing.

My week in pictures

I leave you with a few pics I took during the week. I intended on taking many more, but handbags that are too small for cameras and the constant rainfall and cold nights didn't let me take that many more.
I hate the cold, I hate feeling cold...I'd much rather be boiling hot than freezing and the fact that i don't really dress for the cold makes my hate for cold grow :)
The 1st photo is of an outfit I wore last Saturday, I decided to take a scarf I have and use it as a cape (sort of) and I quite liked the outcome.
The 2nd and 3rd photos were taken on the same day. Me and a friend went to Spirito (if you ever visit Braga you have to go to Spirito) which is a lovely little coffee shop in the town centre. They have coffee like Starbucks (but tastier and cheaper), amazing cupcakes and brownies that are to die for! Not to mention the ice cream which is delish.
The 4th and 5th photos were taken on the same night. Me and a couple of friends went for some coffee and beer at a place called Estúdio 22, it's a bar and gallery with a very relaxed atmosphere and the location is great as it's situated in the historic part of town.
I hope to post more photos soon, I'll try not to let the cold get to me.

Paris je t'aime

So me and three other friends travelled to Paris in December and I decided to post a few snapshots of our 3 day trip. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and stayed at a friend's house until our departure the following Tuesday.
We had a wonderful time sightseeing and drinking hot wine on the Champs-Élysées and on Monday we went to Disneyland (I'll post the Disney pics in a future post).
I fell in love with Montmartre (where we drank some more hot wine) and I really hope to live there someday, the view brought a tear to my eye.
As you can see from the 4th photo, we went to Rue Cambon where me and my best friend took a photo in front of house number 31 (which i'm sure you all know what that means) :)
Unfortunately the weather was dull and it rained a bit but it could have been worse. I now hope to visit Paris again soon, either that or purchase a one way ticket!

P.S I do apologise for the sloppy story telling, but so much happened that if I were to tell you all of it I would have to write a text with novel proportions.

Vogue Portugal February

Just a quick post in order to show you a little something that came with February's Vogue Portugal. The magazine costs €3.50, but for an extra €1.50 you can also get the gift. This month it came with Estée Lauder's Double Wear Concealer (which is quite good I must say; good coverage) and the Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara (which I also really like because it gives me huge lashes and that means I don't have to wear eyeliner).
For those in Portugal who still haven't picked up a copy, I say do so as it's worth the €4.50 price tag. I've already convinced all my girlfriends to get it :)

As you can see, I didn't buy much during the sales (although Zara has a great selection of clothes on sale but money is tight at the moment).

The thing with the sales is that most of the good pieces never make it, some pieces are still a bit too pricey and by the time the second round of sales comes along and everything is 50-70% off, all you are left with is the really crappy stuff that no one wants. The other problem I have when it comes to sale time is that it is also the time of year when the new arrivals start filling the shops, meaning that I am sucked in and hypnotized by the gorgeous spring florals, bright colours and my personal longing for warmer days.

Anyone that knows me well enough knows that when I say that I'm going sales shopping, that I'll always come home with pieces from the new collection. I just can't help myself, I get tired of looking at the same winter pieces over and over again that when the new stuff hits the shops i'm all over it like a crazy lady. Don't be fooled by the 4 pieces above, I did buy a few bits and bobs that were not on sale (naturally) and they will be featured in a future post.

I will now cease my rambling as I am heading to Zara to return the dress I posted above ( I bought an M but prefer an S) before starting my night shift at Mango.

New Year, New Me

Alot has happened since my last post.

I moved from Prague back to my hometown in order to be with the family, get a job and finish my degree. I am with the family, i did get a job (I work part time in Mango) but the degree bit didn't go according to plan...I have come to understand and accept that maybe Uni isn't for me, I do try but i just feel bored and depressed every time I have to go to class. Maybe it's because I spent 2 and a half years working in a foreign country, but I feel I simply do not have the patience to go through with another 2 years of lectures and projects.

I still write for RTRO (a Portuguese online magazine about Fashion, Style and Culture) and I hope to move abroad again sometime soon (I have my sights set on Paris). The truth is, I give alot more of myself when it comes to jobs and work and working gives me more pleasure than any degree ever would. I feel active and useful while working and on the plus side, I get paid!

I'm not sure what lies ahead but I am curious to find out and I do hope to never let this blog be neglected the way it was ever again! My hometown is small and quiet and inspiration doesn't really come to me here, but, as a New Years resolution, i'll try and put as much love into this blog as I did before. I know it's not the best of blogs and it's quite simple but the fact that people actually read it and comment makes me very happy and why shouldn't I carry on? I'm anxious to see what 2012 brings and I hope it'll be filled with everything you (and I) wished for.

Finally the weather got better towards the end of the week. I was tired of having gorgeous weather on weekdays (when i'm stuck in the office) and bad weather during the weekend.
It was quite warm so we decided to go for a walk in the park before we hit the gym, so I opted for a simple outfit that consisted of jeans and a blouse.
I'm writing this before hitting the gym again but there's a gorgeous smell of what seems like portuguese food coming through the window, which makes it hard not to succumb to the pleasures of staying home and eating.
A bug flew into my eye on the second to last pic, hence the mirror and the wierd face.

Although we are in July, someone forgot to tell Prague that it's Summer. It is currently 1pm and I am still in bed in my pyjamas all nice and warm watching the rain fall and the cold wind blow. Usually I would head to town to grab a Starbucks and a magazine, but not today, I will be staying home reading and watching films. While the bf is making lunch (roast chicken with sweet potato) I am creating looks on Polyvore and, inspired by today's weather, I came up with the above. It's simple, practical and good for the rain, nothing too bulky is needed as it's not freezing outside.

Versace For H&M

Versace has been confirmed as the latest designer label to collaborate with H&M. I must admit that I squealed with joy when I read the news, startling my work colleagues who were working quite peacefully.

A few pieces have been revealed, my favourite (for now) is the studded jacket but I am anxious to see what else Ms Versace has up her high fashion sleeve. In the words of Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M, "Versace is one of the most important brands of recent times and their collection for H&M will be glamorous and flamboyant - everything Versace stands for". We can expect iconic designs from the archives and rather than being called a diffusion line, Versace's treasures for H&M will be sold as an "Iconic Collection". We will, however, have to wait until the 17th of November to get our hands on some old school Versace and January 19th for the pre-spring collection that will be available online. Roll on the madness I say!

Back on track

This photo was taken one warm spring day in April when I had just arrived in my hometown of Braga and when my 2 month vacation was beginning. Those two months have just come to an end and now it's back to work in Prague and back to having a routine that doesn't consist of spending the afternoon in a café drinking and chatting away.
I'm loving the 70's trend for summer, but until I find a decent pair of flares, flowy blouses and skinny jeans will have to do.

After 2 months away figuring out my life and feeling completely unmotivated, I am slowly getting back into blogger mode. Aside from my frequent bouts of laziness, motivation and inspiration haven't been a part of my vocabulary recently. However, I am gradually forcing myself to dedicate more time to my "child", who would probably hate me and accuse me of neglect if she were real.
Blogging is something I enjoy and something that I hope to do more of and more frequently, so I apologise to the readers for not having dedicated much time to Fashionably Late. I won't promise to post something every single day but I do promise to do so more frequently and not leave you with the same post for 2 months. I honestly never thought that I would have any readers, let alone have followers and receive comments, so I am very grateful to still have followers and readers despite the neglect. I've been absent due to chronic laziness and other reasons but now I am back (I hope) and I will definately try to post more regularly...
As you can see, I changed the colour of my hair...After 24 years of the same colour I decided to shake things up a bit and after a battle with the hairdresser I couldn't be happier with the end result.
The jacket thing was a birthday present to myself, i'm definately going to go all 70's this summer (well, at least try).

So, after a long period away I am back. I have been extremely busy and tired due to my job and I also went home for the Holidays. I am now back in Prague and I hope that I won't go without updating the blog for too long. Going home always means new clothes, especially this time as the airline lost my luggage...I got it back 3 days later but I had no clothes back home, which, consequently, meant a trip to the shops. As you can see, I've been having fun with Polyvore (I just created an account). No outfit posts because it's snowing like crazy and I would put the michelin man to shame with my current state of bulkiness due to all the layers that I put on every day. I know I should invest in some warm jumpers and cardigans (I only own 3 jumpers and they're not the thick kind) but I get distracted by all the pretty dresses and pieces that are basically impractical for winter. Come to think of it, it's time for a new (and warm) winter coat!
I will be debuting my Lanvin for H&M dress this Saturday and i'm thinking of making a change to the silhouette (not permanent), let's see how it works out.

So, 1st pics :)
I was planning to visit H&M only during lunch time but I ended up waking up at 7 and walking through the cold and the rain to get to my local H&M. When I got there, apart from looking like a drowned rat, I was told that my designated shopping time was at 9:45 :(
When my shopping time came I was very eager to get to the fur coat that I had been eyeing up and I ended up putting my war face on and scaring one of the male shopping assistants as I charged towards him (the coat was behind him you see). I picked up the coat and a few back up pieces in case I didn't like it, these back up pieces consisted of the yellow one shoulder dress, the black one (as above), a t-shirt (which was too big) and the coral dress with the ruffles and "jewels" on the neck line.
As you can see, I bought only the black dress and the tote and I must say that I am extremely happy with my buys :) I also got one of the big Lanvin for H&M bags which are super cute and each bag comes with a linen dress bag which is also adorable.
In the process I also managed to meet 2 lovely and very fun Ladies.
How was your Lanvin for H&M experience? Any funny stories?

Hello all! I know I haven't been posting that often but, once again, I have been busy with my articles and I also just came back from a weekend break to Vienna. It was my first time there and I loved it! The Christmas markets were in full swing so we were able to taste the delicious sweet treats and the beautiful orange punch :)
I won't be posting about my trip today because tonight I am off to see Harry Potter! For those of you that don't know, I am a huge Harry Potter fan :) I have read all of the books more than once and I get giddy everytime the subject comes up, so I am anxious to see how the film turned out.
While I was in Vienna, 2 of the many H&M shops in the centre already had mannequins with the Lanvin collection, I was surprised to see that the dress that I least liked in the photos was the one that I most loved when I actually saw it. How do you all feel about the collection? I will definately be going to H&M on Tuesday but I will probably buy one of the t-shirts instead as they interested me alot more than the dresses...We'll see.
Will you be queing up on Tuesday or will you not bother? What are your favourite pieces?

Another simple outfit, to be honest I haven't really been inspired...I look at my closet and it's full of clothes, however, there never seems to be anything to wear. I always feel like i'm missing something, then the "if only's" begin. If only I had that jacket, if only I had those shoes, then my closet would look alot better and I would be able to mix and match more and I would be happy, it's all lies...I finish purchasing one piece and I am already thinking about the next, my head a constant whirl of all the pieces I would need to make my closet look perfect. That's when I get tired and uninspired and that's where I am now so I apologise if my outfit posts are boring as I really don't know what to wear...

On a happier note, tommorrow is Friday! I simply cannot wait to leave work and get home, no gym tomorrow so it's even better and no shopping trips for me this weekend, I really have to save up.

Quick post! I bought this bag last week in Topshop but I don't like the chain (too small) so I wear it as a clutch. When it comes to bags and shoes, I usually go for black, so i'm happy to give that area of my wardrobe a bit of colour. I love using this clutch with my trench, simple blue skinny jeans and a white tee, it's simple but I love the way it all looks. Outfit post to come soon!

Blah. Blah because that's what the weather has been like. Blah because it was sunny the whole week while I was at work and come Saturday it stars raining... Autumn is officially here, but it feels like winter. Don't be fooled by the second pic, I asked my boyfriend to take it quickly as I was freezing! Today was a rather uneventful day, I wore this outfit to go from my house to my bf's sister's house, we had lunch at her place and chilled the rest of the afternoon. Last night I saw Get Him to the Greek, it was extremely funny (I usually find comedies quite boring) and I highly reccomend it if you're in need of a laugh.

I bought the blazer in H&M yesterday and I quite like the fact that it looks expensive. I wore it today and dressed it down with a white tee and my favourite jeans. During my weekend walks, I bought the ring that's on my pinkie (it's actually an earring) and I was going to buy the Touche Eclát by YSL but it was out of stock so I bought the Dior Skinflash. I've been feeling extremely tired lately and instead of chilling out during the weekend I always have a million things to do and parties to attend. It's not bad obviously, but I should relax more... I'm in need of a massage! :)

One Week of Danger

Today I wore a slouchy outfit, it's cold outside so I chose comfort. The jumper is from H&M as are the jacket, tank top and shoes. Tights from Calzedonia and bag froz Zara.

I also tried the new perfume by Thierry Mugler, as I was on my way to Costa I walked past Sephora and there was a lady doing some promo, so she spritzed some perfume my way :) smells gorgeous!

Alas, the sun has gone and rain and thunder have come to take its place...I wore this outfit last week but I didn't get the chance to take some pics so I asked the bf to take some today.

After weeks of bothering the lovely people at MAC regarding the Lady Gaga lipstick (it was sold out), I finally got my hands on it and it's perfect. The colour is gorgeous and lasts for ages, a great buy to say the least.

Today was a day for relaxing, so I slipped on something comfortable and I didn't bother with make up, well, just a bit of mascara. The dress is actually a skirt but I wear it both ways, however, I think it's missing a belt just to pull it all together.

I finally had the chance to go shopping so I popped into H&M and bought the bangle and then into Topshop for the headband.

I also bought this tee from Zara. I wore it on the same day that I bought it and ended up getting pink vodka all over it. I washed it today and luckily all the stains came outI popped into Sephora today and they had a promotion going on (buy 2 products and get the 3rd for 1czk) so I bought Cranberry and Lychee body lotion (to add to my extensive collection) and 2 nail polishes.

Finally, today's outfit consists of a Zara dress, belt and cardigan. It's simple but comfortable for work, I promise I'll have better stuff during the weekend!

The lack of posts, once again, comes down to the fact that I have been extremely busy this past week. I'm sure next week will be just as busy, so I don't think I will have time for outfit posts or any posts in general...

Today is sunny and warm so I spent almost all day outside, I have to make the most of it.

Another dull day here in Prague...I swear i'm obsessing over the weather! I can't wait for August to come so that I can get back home to the 36º temperature and to the lazy days in the sun. I need to top up my tan as a matter of urgency so that when I do go back home, I don't look completely out of place and also so that every time I look down at my pale legs I don't shudder.

I am loving Groove Armada's new album, below is another video, this time for the song I won't kneel. It's so 80's, I love it!

My face looks a bit dodgy because I was trying to hide my right hand without hurting it too much while still trying to hold myself up. I had the misfortune of getting my finger cut on a plate that snapped in my hands...Now I have a big fat bandage on my finger, not a good look at all.

I bought the dress in Portobello, the tights and bag are TopShop and the shoes from H&M.

Finally the sun came out and gave me it's blessing to wear my denim vest. I wore it with a tee from Mango, Zara jeans and shoes from H&M.
I have bigger and better plans for the vest and I still hope to find the perfect black maxi dress to pair with it.

My outfit for today. The bf and I went out to lunch and then for a walk around town. Luckily the weather was nice and the sun was out, I say was because I am looking outside and a bunch of dark clouds have just gathered overhead... I really cannot wait for nice weather so that I can wear my denim vest!

The dress is new and I bought it from H&M, the shoes and bag are from Zara, the blazer from Pull & Bear and the scarf from Mango.

Back from London Town!

Unfortunately, I am back from my very short weekend in London, I would have stayed a lot longer if I could, in fact, I wouldn't have returned at all!

My buys were very limited as I was only allowed to take hand luggage with me, so I automatically said goodbye to my cosmetic purchases. I did, however, manage to buy the denim vest that I was coveting for quite some time. The maxi dress will have to wait, but not all is lost as I am already the owner of one that I bought a few years ago, although nothing beats the allure of a black maxi!

I stopped by the chaos that is Primark and it proved to be a bit too much for me, especially on a Saturday morning. Amongst the piles of accessories, I managed to find a brown handbag which had been reduced to £3, not bad at all :)

I also got a few bits and bobs from Portobello Market, the sunglasses and the brooch, and a pretty little dress that I found in a shop on Portobello Road ( I also snuck into the Hummingbird Bakery and had a deliciously cute cupcake).

Overall I had a wonderful time, I ate a lot of my favourite English foods which I missed terribly, lusted over the little pieces of heaven displayed at Selfridges (walking past Givenchy made me want to cry) and I even saw a Burberry model!

Yesterday I saw the H&M Fashion Against AIDS Campaign featuring Lou Dillon and Elizabeth Jagger. The collection will be launched on the 20th of May and will also be H&M's first ever festival collection. I don't think i'll be attending any festivals (i'm a small gig type of girl) but I will definately be buying some of the pieces!

I've been a teensy bit lazy regarding blog posts, but now I am finally catching up with the Paris shows.

I've posted all my favourite looks and, for the first time, Chanel is not on the list. To be honest, I found the collection a bit ridiculous what with the furry trousers and all the fur in general (Not that i'm against fur, well, i'm against the use of real fur fur but I just found it to be a bit too much).

Burberry wowed me more with their Spring collection, but this one was pleasing too.

In general, the Spring collections were better that the Winter ones, althought i'm not sure if it's because I long for the sun and the warm weather to arrive.

What are your opinions regarding the Paris Winter collections?

So, I must apologise for my face in this pic as I had just arrived home from a night out.
Earlier in the day I went to H&M to check out the Sonia Rykiel collection as I had my eye on the black "Mon Pull" jumper. I must say I was quite dissapointed with most of the pieces, especially the jumper I wanted so badly, it didn't look as nice as when I saw it in the H&M podcasts and in the campaign.
Needless to say I didn't buy anything, but tomorrow the Bf will take me to choose my birthday present and that always makes me happy :)

First, I would like to apologise for the lack of posts, i've been feeling very tired and lazy. I turned 23 on Monday, it must be old age kicking in ;)

Anyway, above are some pics of my recent buys and also some of my birthday presents.

The 1st three photos were presents I bought for myself, I also bought a new lipstick by Lancôme (Retro Rose, I love it!) and in the last 2 pics are two pairs of tights that my dear friends gave to me (they gave me more things but i'll post them tomorrow).

On Saturday I will receive the Bf's presents, i'm kind of hoping to get the black "Mon Pull" sweater from the Sonia Rykiel for H&M collection :)

So, I had to buy a new pair of flats and I had been eyeing these up in TopShop so it just made sense to buy them.

The bag I bought while I was back home in Portugal for the Christmas holidays.

I'm having a bit of an off day today so i'm just going to snuggle up in bed with the March copy of UK Elle. Although i'm more of a Vogue girl, Elle will have to do as my local Tesco didn't have the March issue yet, it's so hard getting magazines in english here in Prague, the only place I found selling Nylon was a magazine shop at the airport!

From top to bottom: Alexis Mabille, Chanel, Christian Dior and Anne Valerie Hash

I'm usually a Dior girl, but this time, Chanel takes the cake! It was hard for me to pick only a few pieces as the whole collection was extraordinarily beautiful.

The colours are divine and the fabrics look delicious, what I would give to own one of those dresses!

My favourite Anne Valerie Hash look was modelled by Irina Lazareanu, I especially like it because it has a very 1920's, Charlie Chaplin-esque feel, mostly because of Irina.

I look forward to seeing what the rest of the shows bring us and it does sadden me that Christian Lacroix will not be present, Couture will never be the same without him.

Winter walk

Just when I thought that the snow was going to melt, it started snowing again here in Prague. Unfortunately it wasn't normal snow but the big chubby kind that soaks you, needless to say I got home looking like a drowned rat and because my makeup isn't waterproof, (note to self: invest in good waterproof makeup) I ended up with liquid eyeliner and mascara dribbling down my face, not a pretty sight at all.

Adidas Originals Star Wars Collection

As some of you may already know, Adidas Originals launched a collection with Star Wars as it's theme. The collection consists of footwear, tees, hoodies and track coats all with Star Wars characters as their main inspiration. Regarding the sneakers, in the photos we have the "Stormtroopers", the "Skywalkers" and the "Leia" sneakers (for the ladies).

There are 3 packs within the collection:

The character pack with pieces inspired by the main characters

The vehicle pack which is inspired by the movies' most iconic vehicles

The direct pack which features Darth Vader, the Stormtroopers and the Princess Leia sneakers.

My bf asked why I hadn't posted the collection on my blog, so this post goes out to him :)
